Overview #

AWIN is one of the largest affiliate networks in the world, covering thousands of merchants. AffiliateSync integrates with AWIN at two levels:

1. Affiliate Link Rewriting using your AWIN Publisher ID
2. Automated Merchant Programme Sync via the AWIN API (required so AffiliateSync knows which merchants you have joined)

Without the AWIN API integration, AffiliateSync would have no way to know whether a user is approved for a merchant — so API setup is essential.

Step 1 — Create Your AWIN Account #

1. Go to https://ui.awin.com
2. Register as a publisher
3. Complete validation steps
4. Join merchant programmes
5. Wait for approval

You must be approved by each merchant before your links can earn commission.

Step 2 — Get Your AWIN Publisher ID #

You can find this on the AWIN dashboard:

This ID uniquely identifies your AWIN account.

Step 3 — Generate Your AWIN API Key #

AffiliateSync uses the AWIN API to check:

• Which programmes you’ve joined
• Which merchants approve or decline you
• Whether to use AWIN, Amazon or Skimlinks

This prevents broken links and ensures correct routing.

How to get your AWIN API key: #

1. Log into AWIN
2. Click Account → API Credentials
3. Create or reveal your API Access Token

It looks like:

Step 4 — Add Your AWIN Details to AffiliateSync #

In your AffiliateSync dashboard:

1. Go to Affiliate Networks → AWIN
2. Enter:
   • Publisher ID
   • API Token (Access Key)
3. Save your settings

How AWIN Merchant Sync Works #

AffiliateSync automatically fetches your joined merchants daily.

This allows it to:

• Validate which programmes you’re approved for
• Reject deals for merchants you aren’t part of
• Fallback to Skimlinks if you’re not eligible
• Keep your merchant list up to date

No manual work is required.

What Happens If You’re Not Joined to a Merchant? #

AffiliateSync will:

1. Check AWIN API → Merchant not joined
2. Use fallback options in this order:

1️⃣ Amazon (if domain matches)
2️⃣ Another direct network
3️⃣ Skimlinks

This ensures every link that can be is monetised.
