Affiliate Marketing Glossary

This glossary explains common affiliate marketing terms used throughout AnydealsUK. It is designed for beginners and non-technical users, while still being useful as a reference for experienced publishers.


A tracked URL that identifies you as the referring publisher. When a user clicks the link and makes a purchase, you may earn a commission.


Affiliate Network #

A platform that connects publishers with merchants and tracks commissions.

Examples: AWIN, CJ Affiliate, Rakuten, Partnerize, Webgains, Affiliate Future, Commission Factory.


Amazon Associates #

Amazon’s official affiliate programme. Amazon links must follow strict compliance rules and always use Amazon tracking IDs.


API (Application Programming Interface) #

A system that allows software to communicate automatically. AnydealsUK provides an API so websites, bots, and scripts can fetch deal feeds programmatically.


API Key #

A private key that authenticates your access to AnydealsUK feeds and endpoints. It must never be shared publicly.


ASIN #

Amazon Standard Identification Number. A unique product identifier used by Amazon.


A tracking mechanism used by affiliate networks to credit commissions after a user clicks an affiliate link.


Deal Feed #

A stream of time-based deal data containing discounted offers, prices, merchants, images, and affiliate links.


Deal ID #

A unique identifier assigned to each deal. Used for deduplication and tracking.


Deduplication #

The process of ensuring the same deal is not processed or posted more than once.


An affiliate link that points directly to a product or offer page rather than a homepage.


Fallback Network #

A secondary affiliate network used when no direct merchant approval exists. Skimlinks is commonly used as a fallback.


Feed Interval #

The time window a feed covers (10, 30, or 60 minutes).


Main Feed (Pro) #

A feed that includes all supported affiliate networks, including Amazon and non-Amazon merchants.


Merchant #

A retailer or advertiser offering products or services through affiliate networks.


Monetisation #

The process of earning commission from affiliate links.


Network Priority #

The order AnydealsUK uses to decide which affiliate network is applied to a deal.


Rolling Window #

A continuously updating time window used by feeds instead of fixed timestamps.


An affiliate aggregation network used as a fallback to ensure 100% monetisation coverage.


Tracking ID / Publisher ID #

An identifier provided by an affiliate network to credit commissions to your account.
