Curtiss Warhawk was a renowned American aircraft manufacturer who became the largest supplier of aircrafts in the United States during World War II by supplying planes in large numbers to the U.S Armed Forces. Their most famous plane was the boldlooking P40 Warhawk, the very plane that has inspired this Breitling Aviator 8 watch.
Measuring to 43mm in size, the case of this Breitling Curtiss P40 Warhawk watch is crafted from polished stainless steel and fitted with a ratcheted bidirectional bezel. Accents of red can be found on the red bezel marker at 12 o clock as well as on the tip of the chronograph seconds hand to reflect the same paint used on the nose of the P40 Warhawk plane. The military green dial also tributes the main colour of the aircraft while also providing the perfect backdrop to bold Arabic numerals and propeller shaped hour and minute hands coated in Superluminova. Embraced within the case of this Breitling Aviator 8 B01 Chronograph 43 Curtiss P40 Warhawk watch is the COSC certified Breitling 01 mechanical movement which equips the watch with hour and minute function, a subseconds dial, 30 minutes and 12 hours chronograph counters, central chronograph seconds, a date window and a power reserve of 70 hours. The automatic calibre is also displayed beautifully through a sapphire crystal glass case back which has been decorated with an image of the famous P40 plane and its distinctive shark mouth logo.
