BUT HOLD THE PHONE
We got a HUGE warning, lads and lasses. One gentle wipe ONE and the antiglare coating said sayonara like my ex wife when I bought Bitcoin at £100k.

I followed the manual. Lintfree cloth, light pressure, bit of damp like cleaning a Fabergé egg in a monastery. Didnt matter. Now Ive got a big shiny smudge in the centre, and not in a sexy way.

So, I tried to go full Consumer Rights Act 2015 on ASUS. What did they say Ohhh, youre gonna love it. Strap in. Here comes the corporate tango, verbatim straight to Terry this is the real deal.

Dear Terry,

Thank you for contacting the ASUS UK Support Team. My name is Bogdan and it would be my pleasure to assist you in any way possible.

After reviewing the provided images and details, we regret to inform you that the damage to the screens AR coating is classified as physical damage, which falls outside of the manufacturers warranty coverage. While we strive to ensure our products meet high durability standards, external damage including damage caused during cleaning cannot be considered a manufacturing defect.

The AR coating is designed to enhance viewing quality, and while it is durable under normal use, improper cleaning methods or excessive pressure can lead to damage.

We always recommend following the official ASUS cleaning guidelines, which are duly specified in the user manual of the product.

dlcdnets.asus.compubCDM

The above document will warn the user to never spray directly on the screen and avoid liquid contact.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of this damage, we are unable to offer a repair, replacement, or compensation.

We understand this may not be the response you were hoping for, but we encourage you to reach out to Overclockers UK to explore any available options under their policies, as per your statutory rights.

Kind regards,
Bogdan

BAD

ASUS warranty team More slippery than an eel in baby oil.
They think gently wiping a screen is improper cleaning. What should I use Telepathy
For a £1,000 monitor, this coating is softer than a Love Island lads emotional resilience.
UGLY

NO WARNING about coating fragility in the product page. Nothing on the packaging.
ZERO accountability when it goes Pete Tong.
And yet somehow I still love it. Like a toxic ex.
Bottom Line
Buy it. Love it. Marry it.
But for the love of Terry, DO NOT WIPE IT. Treat it like a Fabergé egg covered in fairy dust.
If it gets dirty, move house.
